False Accusations || Don

The two men exchanged a glance. "Honestly, we were looking for you two fine gentlemen,"one of them finally said, eyeing first Don and then Mac. "And we were looking for a few of our friends this morning. By the looks of it they didn't do their jobs well enough,"the other one growled impatiently, looking at Mac. "So you two are with the gang?"Mac asked, ignoring the comment. He noticed both of them were taking care to keep their hands in their jacket pockets. He shot a look at Don. They had guns. The first one to talk nodded. "You two want to save lives, you'll let us do what we were sent to do,"he said, looking over at Don. Mac looked from Don to the man. "I wonder what that could be?"he said sarcastically, rolling his eyes and looking over his shoulder. There was a lot of people on the street. A lot of people that could lose their lives if they didn't agree with these two sons of bitches.

Don nodded over to the men's pockets. "Take your hands out of your pockets if u may. Standard procedure. If u have any weapons, well, u don't have to go far to have your ass put in jail. And may I add that making threats to two armed cops is a no no." he said.

Both men took their hands out of their pockets, but still eyed Mac and Don carefully. "They will find a way. We're here to give the message, not carry out the message,"one of them said. "Said message is, "Watch your back." We know them. They'll be sure to make do on that message, Detective Taylor. Mark our words."

"If I were u I would stop the threats because I'm short tempered when it comes to assholes like u two. So u best stop before I pull this trigger and kill u for being stupid. U feel me?" Don asked, fire burning in his eyes.

Mac laid a hand on Don's arm to keep him from doing something they'd both regret. "I think we're done here. You two are coming with us,"he said calmly, shooting a glance at Don before looking back to the suspects.

Don sighed, his eyes still fixed on the two guys. "Can u believe those two scumbags?" he asked.

Mac sighed and frowned, shaking his head. "Let's just get their asses in to the precinct and we'll go from there,"he muttered in reply.

Don nodded. "Right. Let's put these scumbags away." he said.

Mac nodded. Once that was taken care of, he could let his mind process and work through that threat, decide what he was going to do. Brad would have to stay at the precinct for the night or with one of the officers, maybe even Don if he was still willing to have the kid. He would not be putting the child's life in danger by taking him back to his place that night. The risk was too great.

Mac and Don took the men into the interrogation room at the Precinct. Don glared numerously at them, shaking his head, and chuckling. "So, u wanna tell us what the hell u were doing canvassing around the Precinct earlier? Cuz I'll have u know I was watching u two scumbags from my desk. Are we really that popular that u had to pick this place to camp out at? Hmm?" he asked.

"We already told you why we were here,"one of the men pointed out. "Or maybe you weren't listening? I know you were, Taylor,"he continued, looking over at Mac who simply looked back at him and nodded a bit.

Don shook his head. "That's not an answer. What the hell are u trying to prove huh? Or do I need to glue your asses to the chair to squeeze the right answer out of u?" he asked, heading to the back of the interrogation room.

Mac looked over at Don. "He's talking about the threat. 'Watch your back.'"he said.

"My patience has just about run out, Mac do u mind taking over?" Don asked.

Mac nodded, casually leaning back against the wall. "You said 'they'...mind telling us who 'they' is?"he offered as a question to continue the interrogation.

One of the men spoke. "Brad." he said.

Mac's gaze instantly hardened. "You leave him out of this!"he hissed, pissed off that this jackass would bring Brad in to this. "I know for a fact that kid has nothing to do with this! Evidence doesn't lie, you son of a bitch, you guys set him up!"

Don chimed in. "Not only did u set him up, but u ordered your boys to go after Detective Taylor. U have yet to tell us why the hell u are after him. Enlighten me!!" he said.

"You guys should know!"one of them snapped. "No one wants to get caught. We had to get a message to you dumbasses somehow!"he snapped. He looked at Don with a bit of a sick smile. "Boss figured what better way to do it than the damn head of the crime lab? The biggest thorn in the side of this city for over ten years! Simple common sense to us "sons of bitches","he growled, shooting a glare at Mac, who had a bit of a snarl forming in his mind and on his face.

Don reached across the table and nearly choked one of the guys to death. "U even think about going after any of us, I will make sure u live the rest of your lives in a prison cell, with limited resources, pissing in a cubbie hole the size of a peanut, and eating dirty rotten ass food that was left in the fridge for years. Lock these guys up, I think we're done. I've certainly heard enough from these sons of bitches." he muttered, looking to Mac.

"Yeah. To hell with them if you wish,"Mac snarled darkly, fire burning in his blue eyes as his gaze scanned disgustedly over the two suspects before he looked at Don. He looked back to the suspects. "Brad stays out of this. Remember that the next time you try to fuck with my life,"he hissed before he stood and walked out of the room, feeling his temper still flaming on high from the confession.

Don said his last few words before he left the interrogation room. "Next time, u boys better think before u decide to ruin a cop's life or threaten it. There'll be hell to pay if u even try to pull this stunt again." he snapped before storming out of the room.

Mac paced in the hall for just a few brief moments before stopping himself with a muttered curse and a daggerous glare at the interrogation room he'd just left. He looked up as Don joined him. "They touch Brad and I will find a way to personally strangle the assholes responsible, hospitalized or not!"he growled, defiant and angry glare still examining the door to the room like it was something he'd never seen before.

Don shook his head. "I feel u, Mac. He'll be safe at my place and I got my gun just in case I need to use it. Those assholes in there better think twice about hurting either of us." he said.

Mac nodded, finally able to clear his face of the look that made it seem like he thought the door, and possibly the entire room, was from Mars and he'd been abducted by aliens. He looked back to Don. His heart told him he'd rather the jackasses of the gang go for him than anyone he knew. That's just how he was, protective of his family. And his family was the team, and now Brad. "They've got their minds set to their goal, that's for certain,"was all he ended up saying.
